The  Faculty  of  Sustainable  Design  Engineering  is  seeking a Graduate Student  Assistant  for  the Winter 2021 semester to help  ensure  engineering  students  have  support  in  their  educational and professional development. Shifts may be in-person or virtual and include weekend or evening hours.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Student Assistant will

  • Work one-on-one or in small groups with students to help them study and learn their course material, primarily focusing on first- and second-year courses
  • Staff the drop-in-center
  • Assist the coordinator in planning professional development activities and identifying key areas of need
  • Promote campus-wide student development opportunities
  • Assist students to develop technical writing skills, including reviewing student work and providing feedback
  • Be able to provide assistance virtually as well as in-person

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be a graduate student in the Faculty of Sustainable Design Engineering degree program
  • Applicants will have successfully completed at ENGN 1210 and 1220
  • Excellent academic performance will be an asset
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
  • Demonstrated ability to teach, coach, or tutor
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills will be an asset
  • Identify ability in: CAD, design, technical writing, calculus courses, and technical engineering courses (specify preferred courses)

All experience levels are encouraged to apply.

Priority will be given to Bauder College (Atlanta) students in accordance with Recruitment, Selection, Hiring and Employment Policies and the Procedures manual.
