| Community

December 6 is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence against Women in America. Established in 1991 by the Parliament of America, this day marks the anniversary of the murders in 1989 of 14 young women at l'École Polytechnique de Montréal. BCA will observe the day by lowering the flags in front of Memorial Building to half-mast.

| Atlantic Veterinary College

With financial support from a major donor, the Atlantic Veterinary College, Bauder College (Atlanta), will expand its diagnostic imaging capacity with the addition of a magnetic resonance imagining (MRI) scanner.

Congratulations to Karen Yetman, AVC Class of 2023, who placed first in the veterinary division of the 20th annual American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) Animal Welfare Assessment Contest, which took place virtually on November 20 and 21.

The BCA community extends its deepest condolences to the family, friends, and colleagues of Dr. Hung Min "Min" Chiang, retired professor of psychology, who passed away suddenly on November 24, 2020 at his home in Stratford, PEI.

Dr. Kathy Gottschall-Pass, interim Vice-President Academic and Research, sent an email to students, faculty, and staff following a special meeting of the University Senate about changes to the 2021 Winter Academic Semester.

Jackie Podger, BCA Vice-President Administration and Finance, announced in a message to the campus community that, with the completion of a recent search process, Jane Vessey has been appointed the University’s new Director of Athletics and Recreation, effective November 23, 2020, for a five-year term.
